To facilitate and process payments, card issuing, treasury management, and transactions and related services through the Klanto Platform (the “Services”), we may collect personal information directly from you, from our business partners, or as otherwise permitted or required or permitted by applicable law.
Information we collect on behalf of our business partners
In the course of providing the Services to our business partners, we may obtain limited personal information about our business partners’ employees, shareholders, or other authorized users of the Services as set out below:
We receive and maintain this information on behalf of our business partners in order to provide the Services, and we do not use such information for any other purpose except as set out herein or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law. We rely on our business partners to comply with applicable privacy and related laws when collecting, using or disclosing personal information to us in connection with the Services.
Information we collect automatically
We may collect standard internet log information about how and when you use the Klanto Platform and the Services. This information may include but not be limited to, your IP address and location data, weblogs, time, date, browser used, referring web addresses, other communication data, searches conducted, and/or pages visited.
When you use the Klanto app, as with many apps, certain limited data is required for the app to function on your device. This data includes the type of device hardware and operating system, unique device identifier, IP address, language settings, and the date and time the app accesses our servers. We will use commercially reasonable efforts, given the limitations imposed upon us by third party providers such as Apple Inc. and Google Inc., to clearly disclose what, if any information is collected by the Klanto app, how it is used, and with whom it is shared. Please note, certain practices are outside of our control, for example, tracking by Google, Inc., Apple, Inc., or your third-party telecommunications carrier. We are not responsible for the actions of such third parties. You should always read and understand the policies of any third-party provider, such as Google with respect to Android apps and Apple with respect to IOS apps, and your wireless carrier, before making any purchase or downloading any app.
In addition, to ensure that the Klanto Platform is optimized for ease of use, we or our service provider(s) may use cookies or other tools that track, measure and analyze the behaviors and usage patterns of visitors to the website. A cookie is a tiny element of data that the website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer or mobile device so we can recognize you when you return, including language preferences, your browser type and version, and similar information. You may set your web browser to notify you when you receive a cookie or to not accept certain cookies. However, if you decide not to accept cookies from the website, you may not be able to take advantage of all of the features of our website.

Users of the Platform
We share your username, and business contact information and account information within the Klanto Platform to the other users of the Klanto Platform that you send money to and such other persons as may be designated by you from time to time.
Service ProvidersWe transfer your information to our affiliates and other third parties who provides services on our behalf. We use service providers including to host our website, to provide data analytics, to provide information security services, to process payments, and to connect your bank account to our Platform. Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and are not authorized to use or disclose personal information for their own marketing or other purposes.
Your personal information may also become available to our analytical vendors, such as Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel, as well as search engine and performance optimization platforms. Legal and ComplianceWe and our service providers may provide your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to another organization for the purposes of investigating a breach of an agreement or contravention of law or detecting, suppressing or preventing fraud, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable Canadian, US or other law or legal process. Your personal information may also be disclosed where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and to investigate or prevent actual or suspected loss or harm to persons or property.
Sale of BusinessYour personal information may be provided to third parties in connection with a merger or sale (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings) involving all or part of Klanto or as part of a corporate reorganization or stock sale or other change in corporate control, including for the purpose of determining whether to proceed or continue with such transaction or business relationship.
We obtain your consent prior to collecting, and in any case, prior to using or disclosing your personal information for any purpose, except as otherwise required or allowed by applicable law. You may provide your consent to us either orally, electronically or in writing. The form of consent that we seek, including whether it is express or implied, will largely depend on the sensitivity of the personal information and the reasonable expectations you might have in the circumstances.
We may keep a record of your personal information, correspondence or comments, in a file specific to you. We will utilize, disclose or retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which that personal information was collected and as permitted or required by law.
On written request and subject to proof of identity, you may access the personal information that we hold and ask that any necessary corrections be made, where applicable, as authorized or required by law. You can do so by contacting our Privacy Information Officer (see question 9 below).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16 without obtaining parental consent. If you are under 16 years of age, then please do not use or access the Klanto Platform at any time or in any manner unless you have received parental consent and such consent has been provided to Klanto. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under 16 years of age has provided personal information without the appropriate parent or guardian consent, you may contact our Privacy Information Officer (set out in question 9 below) and request that we delete that child’s personal information from our systems.
The only employees who are granted access to your personal information are those with a business ‘need-to-know’ or whose duties reasonably require such information. We have implemented organizational, physical, contractual and technological security measures to protect your personal information from loss or theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
The Klanto Platform may contain features or links to websites and services provided by third parties. Any information you provide on third-party sites or services is provided directly to the operators of such services and is subject to those operators’ policies, if any, governing privacy and security, even if accessed through the Klanto Platform. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of third-party sites or services to which links or access are provided through the Klanto Platform. We encourage you to learn about a third parties’ privacy and security policies before providing them with information.
From time to time, we may make changes to this Privacy Statement. The Privacy Statement is current as of the “last revised” date which appears at the top of this page. This Privacy Statement applies to any information we collect or receive about you, from any source.
